The Council has engaged architects Allies and Morrison to produce a masterplan for the Baggot Estate – Ballinacurra Creek – Rosbrien – Toppin’s Field areas. Draft plans include adventure playground, maze, and allotments in the Baggot Estate, nature walks near Ballinacurra Creek, and housing to the north of Toppin’s Field. Next month, the draft plans will be published for public consultation, and I’ll be looking to hear the views of local residents, to feed back to the architects and Council staff.

I’m concerned that the draft plans don’t fully take into account the N18, which cuts through the Baggott Estate. The noise from the road is ever-present in the area, which doesn’t make for a particularly relaxing park. I’m looking for more noise reduction measures to help account for this, and I’m working on other aspects of the plan.

Not all green space is equal – I want to see this become a space we can enjoy. So make sure you have your say when the next public consultation opens!
