The Council has started working on a new transport plan for the city area. We need to plan a transport network that is reliable, that links with plans for future development as Limerick grows, and that plans to move people, not just cars.

We need a reliable bus network (you may have seen my data-driven proposals to fix the 304 route). We need an integrated segregated cycle network, so that kids can safely bike to school, and anyone who wants to can cycle to work, to shops, to sports, and more. We need to design streets where people can walk, use wheelchairs, use prams.

There’s just not enough room on our city streets for more cars during rush hour. Let’s provide workable alternatives, so that being stuck in traffic daily isn’t part of normal life in Limerick.
